Vice President – Karen Evans, The Whiting Turner Company

Karen Evans joined Whiting-Turner as a project engineer in 1985 and became Vice President in 2012. She has been planning and constructing building projects for various clients such as The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Global Holdings Management Corporation, IBM Corporation, T. Rowe Price Associates, Corporate Office Properties Trust, University of Maryland Medical Systems, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Johns Hopkins University, University of Maryland Baltimore, General Growth Properties (formerly The Rouse Company), Baltimore County Public Schools, Notre Dame of Maryland University, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Karen also serves as the company’s Director of WT 101, which is a training and education program provided to every new engineer who joins the company.

Karen’s deep commitment to community service is evident through her involvement on charitable and civic boards, including serving previously on the Board of Directors of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) – Maryland Community (Chair), USGBC-MD Chapter Annual Wintergreen Awards (Past – Chair), and ACE Baltimore Affiliate Executive Committee (Secretary) and ACE Team lead. Karen is a 2013 graduate of Leadership Maryland, and she was named a Distinguished Women’s Award Honoree by the Girls Scouts of Central Maryland in 2015.
